Open CLIL Educational Project

Hi readers! Today’s post is “my prototype of an open educational project”, the objective of this project is to create a draft of an open educational project. It is a challenge from the ICT subject at Rey Juan Carlos University. Do not miss it! And Check it out!!

First of all, I have used a template as a guide to prototype the project. The application that I have chosen to create this book is issuu, it is a useful online resource to show documents nicely. You can check my creation below. 


Hereafter, I am going to summarise what I have written in the template:

- The topic that I have chosen is “Diet, Digestion and Excretion”, because I have seen that lesson during my internship period, and I was allows for preparing the lesson by myself. It was very interesting for me as a physical education teacher, because you can establish cross curricular easily.


- This project is intended for third graders.
- The number of sessions that I have established are 8 sessions, but it can take more than 8 sessions, depending on the pace of work of the classroom.

- In relation with the aims, they are related with the topic "Diet, digestion and excretion", and also with the standards of learning.
- According to the 4Cs of CLIL, they are based on the lesson, trying to include all the aspects (vocabulary, linguistic contents, etc.) from this topic.

- The key competences are all includes apart from Mathematical competence and basic competences in science and technology.

- The 4 skills are also included (writing, listening, speaking, and reading).

- I have divided the activities in complementary activities, reviewing activities, and daily activities.

- This open educational project is going to be cross curricular with physical education and arts and craft, using also some contents from English such as: comparatives.

- At the end of the template I have added the rubrics, where you can check the evaluation criteria, plus the mark ranges with all the requirements and the final marks.

I have to say that it is a useful activity when you are thinking about designing an open educational project.

After the realization of the template, I had to create a video to explain the template. I have chosen explee, an online application to create a video with drawing; you can also include music, voice messages and pictures. I really like this application because it is eye-catching and it can engage the attention of the viewer on it.
